Advance Legal was instructed to act on behalf of a young girl (aged just two years at the time of her accident) who was injured while she was at playschool.
She suffered a broken leg, but no one seemed to know why. It initially appeared that the playschool staff were not supervising the girl at the time of the accident and did not see what happened.
However, when we commenced a claim the playschool denied liability and said it must have happened as she was “skipping around the room with a friend”.
We pursued the claim despite their denial, and eventually the playschool’s insurers agreed that they would accept responsibility and pay compensation. We obtained a medical report on the girl’s injuries, which we used to negotiate a settlement of £9,300.
A judge approved this settlement and said it was generous. It will now be invested until the claimant reaches 18.
