Advance Legal Obtain £10,000 Compensation for Bus Depot Worker

Our client worked in the yard at a bus depot. He badly injured his arm when he lost his footing and fell, cracking his elbow against the wheel of a bus. He fell because workmen had left an unguarded hole in the ground in the yard.

Our client was initially concerned about bringing a claim against his employer. He thought he would face a long fight with them, because his boss at the time did not complete the proper accident reporting paperwork. However, he instructed Advance Legal to pursue a claim on his behalf, and as soon as we sent the defendant a thorough and detailed letter of claim, they soon admitted liability without the problems he had envisaged.

We obtained a medical report on our client’s injuries and we calculated the earnings that he had lost while off work. As a result, we were able to negotiate a settlement of £10,000.

Our client instructed us to act for him in November 2012; we sent him his compensation cheque in August 2013, just 9 months later. Although we can make no promises about always being able to settle a claim so quickly (defendants and their insurers often put up a firm fight!), the fact is that in the right hands, a personal injury claim has the potential to be progressed smoothly and efficiently.

We will always try to bring your claim to a satisfactory conclusion as soon as possible where appropriate, and we will guide you through the various stages along the way.
