Employee rights have increased dramatically in the last few years and there are many rights you probably did not know about.
- To claim for unfair dismissal you normally need to have had 12 months' service. (However, there are many exceptions.) The Government is proposing to increase this limit to two years.
- The compensation limit for unfair dismissal is £68,400 ( from 1 February 2011 ).
- For discrimination and some other claims, there is no upper limit.
- There is a 3 month time limit for making most employment claims. The rules are very complicated, but the key point is to contact us immediately - do not delay, as it this could affect your claim.
- You can still claim even if you were partly at fault.
