Discrimination

Employee rights have improved dramatically in the last few years and there are many rights you probably did not know about.

  • To claim for unfair dismissal you normally need to have had 12 months' service. (However, there are many exceptions.)
  • The compensation limit for unfair dismissal has increased to £68,400 ( from 1 February 2011 ).
  • For discrimination and some other claims, there is no upper limit.
  • There is a 3 month time limit for making most employment claims. The rules are very complicated, but the key point is to contact us immediately - do not delay, as it this could affect your claim.
  • You can still claim even if you were partly at fault.
  • We can represent you through to your tribunal and beyond. We deal with all paperwork and represent you at the hearing.
  • We operate a 'no win, no fee' service. Most law firms insist on charging you by the hour, win or lose, but we share the risk with you.
