This sounds self explanatory, but is in fact quite complicated.
- It is not enough to show that you are of a certain race and that something bad has happened to you at work. You will need to show that your employer is treating you badly because of your race, and you will need to provide as much evidence as possible. It will not just be assumed.
- If racial discrimination is happening, then take advice from us now and begin tape recording, photocopying or photographing any evidence, otherwise it will be just your word against theirs.
- With discrimination cases, you do not have to give up your job to make a claim. You can stay at work and still go to a tribunal. We will advise on the best way forward.
